Bulldogs Beautify

The event started with about 60 people grabbing gloves and garbage bags and combing the banks of the river picking up trash and removing larger sticks and limbs to help clear it out and improve the views. About 40 of those helpers were students at the Hillside Young Adult Program. With so many hands, the clean-up didn’t take long.

At 10:45am, the Otsego Summer Food Program meal truck arrived and served up lunch before the games began. There were a few carnival-type games, face painting and the museum was also open for visitors. The City of Otsego joined in the effort as well bringing down a fire truck, police car and two DPW trucks for kids to climb through and check out. The Bulldogs Bookin’ Bus was also there for kids to check out books and community members to take a look.

The event was a great success and a fun partnership between the city and school. We had high school students come out to volunteer and Arby’s and Culver’s provide coupons as prizes for visiting the various attractions.

If you missed out this year, don’t worry, Bulldogs Beautify will be back next summer!
